ENThe article presents a biographical research into the life of one of the signatories of the Movement of the Struggle for Freedom of Lithuania Bronius Liesys. Attempts were made to provide not only the biography of his fight but also of his personal life. On the basis of the interviews and archival data, the history of the fighters family and life before the war and the partisan resistance movement have been investigated. It was sought to comprehend what factors, circumstances, the education acquired, the world outlook, the skills decided the fighter’s joining the partisan movement and the specific trajectory, either assumed or assigned functions of the public action in the partisan structures. Making use of the data of soviet repressive structures, reminiscences of the contemporaries (published texts and the interview with his sister Danutė Liesytė), partisan documents, particularly the archive of the Staff of Prisikėlimas military district kept in the Lithuanian Particular Archives, the military biography beginning with the sabotage and subversion courses at the Abwehr School to tjje position of an ordinary fighter in Rolandas platoon (in Lydys formation, Kadagys company) and to the Chief of the National Division of the Public Relations Unit of the Movement of the Struggle for Freedom of Lithuania was reconstructed. Simultaneously it was sought to reconstruct Bronius Liesys’ personality; much attention was devoted to Bronius Liesys’ autographs, particularly to Bronius Liesys’ personal work notebook that has survived and is kept in the archive of the Staff of Prisikėlimas military district.
