ENThe paper presents the materia medica preserved in the Jesuit pharmacies on the basis of the inventories of the colleges issued after the suppression of the Society of Jesus in 1773. The author tries to answer to three questions: 1) about the level of Jesuit pharmacy against the background of 18th century science, 2) about the contribution of Jesuit apothecaries to the development of pharmaceutics in the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, 3) about the importance of Jesuit pharmacies within the social and religious activity of the Order.
