ENAt the beginning the author reviews the general situation of Polish officers arrested after the defeat of September 1939. He discusses the details of intellectual activity in the camps in Lithuania - in Rakiszki (September 1939 - beginning of April 1940) and in Wylkowyszki (April - beginning of July 1940). To illustrate the output he refers to the texts published in the ‘Podchorąży’ gazette, edited in Rakiszki in December 1940, written by Leszek Rybicki, Piotr Choynowski and Wacław Lasocki.
