ENThe article introduces the first multivolume facsimile edition of collected works by Ludwig Rhesa (Liudvikas Rėza) which is being prepared at the Institute of the Lithuanian Literature and Folklore in Vilnius. Rheza's works have been collected from libraries and archives in Lithuania and abroad (Germany, Poland and Italy). Some of them have not previously been recorded in bibliography indexes. Today there are almost no translations of Rheza's German and Latin works into Lithuanian. Much better known are his Lithuanian-themed works: articles on folklore, collection of „Songs", publication of Christian Donalitius (Kristijonas Donelaitis) writings, but little is known about Rheza's theological, historical works and his poetry. The article introduces the underlying principles of preparation of his collected works and provides an overview of the content of the thirteen volumes. It also describes in detail Rheza's works which will make the core of this publication and introduces Rheza's unfinished works (dictionary of the Lithuanian language and history of Lithuania) which are known from his personal archive and correspondence. The publication of the first volume of Rheza's collected works coincides with the 235th anniversary of his birth.
