LTStraipsnyje atskleidžiamos Lenkijos–Lietuvos unijos ir Europos Sąjungos idėjos. Au-torius siekia parodyti dviejų koncepcijų politines paraleles, bendrus politinius kontekstus ir mitologines sąsajas. Straipsnio pradžioje yra aptariama Lenkijos–Lietuvos unija, parodomas jos spindesys, bet kartu ir tamsiosios unijos pusės, išryškinamos neigiamos unijos su Lietuva pasekmės Lenkijai. Kita straipsnio tema – europinė idėja. Autorius kelia klausimą apie europinės idėjos genezę. Kada atsirado Europos Sąjungos idėja? Koks buvo Europos Sąjungos įkū-rimo politinis kontekstas, kodėl būtent tuo metu? Kas įvyko istorijoje ir politikoje, kad XX amžiaus penktojo dešimtmečio pradžioje atsirado bendrijos pagrindai? Į šiuos klausimus autorius atsako formuluodamas dvi aiškinimo versijas: vieną istorinę, kitą – politinę. Taip pat parodo europinės idėjos genezę, Europos Sąjungos politinę mitologiją. Straipsnį parašė idėjos ir politinių doktrinų istorikas, kuris, remdamasis plačiąja isto-rine ir politinės minties medžiaga, formuluoja savo autorinius interpretavimo siūlymus. ENThe article presents the idea of the Polish-Lithuanian Union and the idea of the European Union. The author indicates mutual political parallels between both political concepts, their mutual political contexts, and mythological references. The first part of the article is devoted to the presentation of the Polish-Lithuanian Union and its positive and negative aspects, with particular emphasis on the negative consequences suffered by Poland. The second part contains a reflection on the European idea. The author asks a ques-tion about the origins of the European idea, about the moment in which the concept of the European Union appeared. He asks about the political context of the creation of the European Union. Why then? What happened in history/politics at the beginning of the 1950s that consequently led to the creation of the Union? He answers these questions formulating two different explanations: a historical one and a political one. At the same time, the author presents the origins of the European idea, the political mythology of the Union. The article is written by a historian of ideas and political doctrines who, referring to rich historical materials and the political thought, formulates his own original interpretative proposals.
