Summary / Abstract:

ENAchieving wellness for health professionals is a way to reduce the number of people (society members, employees) suffering from long-term illnesses and their sequelae, and to decrease the related expenses. This is why wellness programs need to be developed and implemented (Roslender, Stevenson 2006, Kumar, Lybeck 2009). Snice the ancient times, wellness has been the highest goal of man and the entire society. According to M. P. Cooper (2008), special attention is given to wellness these days. Employers have notably realized its importance and are starting to pay more attention to the health of their employees. Investing into the wellness of their employees is beneficial for companies because it affects the intellectual capital of the company io question (Roslender, Stevenson, Kahn, 2006). The wellness of employees is related to higher professional success, larger income and general efficiency (Almeida, Ahreans, 2011). Employees who feel satisfied are more efficient, reliable, creative and loyal to their company (Garg, Rastogi, 2009). Personal wellness is closely tied in with pro-social and democratic ideals. Active wellness is essential for the development of a stable, productive and effectively functioning society. [From the publication]
