Moralinės tolerancijos samprata I. Kanto praktinėje filosofijoje

LTSavo dvasia I. Kanto moralės filosofija nukreipta prieš dogmatizmą ir nepakantumą. Tokios jo praktinės filosofijos sąvokos kaip „valios autonomija“, „laisvė kaip savivalė“ yra tiesiogiai susijusios su tolerancijos pagrindimu. Straipsnyje, mėginant atskleisti tolerancijos idėjos prasmę I. Kanto filosofijoje, pirmiausia nagrinėjamas santykis tarp moralės pagrindų sampratos ir tolerancijos. Po to mėginama išsiaiškinti, kokią vietą tolerancija užima jo vertybių teorijoje bei atsakyti į klausimą, ar galima pareiga toleruoti [Iš Įvado].

ENImmanuel Kant is not usually considered as an ideologue of a concept of tolerance. The paper argues that an idea of moral tolerance is implicit in the practical philosophy of Kant. An attempt is made at explicating this concept of tolerance. The argument is based on an analysis of the basics of morality and the hierarchy of duties. It is pointed out that the demand of tolerance is implied in the concept of practical reason, as defined by Kant. The principle of the autonomy of will, the idea of a human being as an end in itself and the categorical imperative associated with it, all together justify the duty of respecting oneself and other persons. This is the duty that is the grounds for tolerance. Moral tolerance emphasizes a commitment to the value of autonomy. Toleration that follows from a commitment to autonomy should not be confused with moral relativism. The principle of tolerance is not a negative one, as ethical relativism claims; it is a positive demand for respect for the autonomy of another person. The justification of tolerance in contemporary moral and political philosophy has elaborated the Kantian principle of respect for persons.
