The models of the analysis of Sonata by Vladas Švedas and Sonata by Algirdas Bružas having made use of the ideality method are being presented. Objective: to determine the expediency of the application of the ideality method for the analysis of Lithuanian composers' academic pieces for accordion. Subject: the academic pieces for accordion by the Lithuanian composers. Methods: ideality, questionnaire, analysis, and summary. Data: various sources for the article have been used, such as: the facts of the questionnaire of famous Lithuanian accordion players, the material of the paper of the diverse scientific conferences (in all 4), the articles in the Lithuanian scientific press (in all 6), the methodical works of the pedagogues of the accordion speciality (in all 4), also the notes of the pieces which have been investigated (in all 5), books about the academic pieces for accordion (in all 4). Results: although it is possible to establish the artistic value of the real pieces studying the correspondence of the real pieces to the model of the ideal piece, however, the ideality method could not always explain the reasons of the popularity of the pieces and their influence on the development of the performance.
