ENAt the turn of the Sixties and Seventies of the 20,h century, with more vivid indications of a global ecological crisis, the Western world became greatly interested in the values of Eastern cultures. This process was spurred on by the opinion that Western metaphysics and its predetermined morals are most likely the source of ecological problems, but not the means for their solution. This process, later named the great period of neo-orientalism of “high hopes”, intensified the dialogue of different cultures and induced the formation of a new type of environmental ethics.
