ENThe article deals with the stories about destruction of crosses and shrines in Soviet times. Most stories have elements of magic that are associated with the fate of the destroyers of monuments. By telling such stories, people expressed their concern, their religious and ethical attitude towards acts of vandalism connected with crosses and shrines. These stories show, who destroy sacral monuments are acting against the moral norms of the community and will be punished by God for it. [From the publication]
