Summary / Abstract:

ENThis research seeks to reveal special and dramatic examples of the concept of the non-Soviet homeland. It includes two separate dramaturgical axes: one, the non-Soviet homeland, is independent of reality which is an alternative to the other, the artificially created concept of the Soviet homeland. It is the occupied homeland incorporated into the Soviet Empire. The connection between both leads to transcendental alternative landscapes. The concept of a Lithuanian homeland, as with other Baltic States, is based on this new identity, rising from the parts of a ruined Eastern Europe as their homeland. Here very important meanings are the borders, maps and limitless (borderless) space which transformed into the contexts of music, literature and visual arts. The coding of this concept of homeland was changed by exceptional events and humans – heroes, who broke the “iron curtain” and crossed borders, turning the time axis with the power of a mission impossible.
