ENThe article is dedicated to contacts between mass national movements in the Baltic Republics in the period of Perestroika and the Russian opposition. The author dwells on the first contacts of the Russian non-formals and the Baltic opposition groups in 1987-1988, on the role of the idea of the People's front in the development of the Russian opposition movement, on the links of the struggle for independence in the Baltic Republics and the struggle for sovereignty in Russia.
