In her diary Salomėja Nėris often mentioned music which had a big impact on her creation. Music was the necessity to her, part of the soul giving inspiration. Moreover, music became essential to her, introduced to Čiurlionis', Grieg's, Wagner's and very closely to Beethoven's music (his name is very often mentioned in the diary). His creation became poetic urge (the poem 'Beethoven'). Musical and resounding S. The pages of the poet's diary were refreshed by Konstancija Brundzaitė who had created 3 musical pictures for the voice and piano 'Jei nebūtų saulės'. In choral songs based on Nėris' poems could be seen more complicated musical pictures, patriotic themes (Balys Dvarionas' 'Sesuo žydrioji - Vilija', Jonas Švedas' 'Kareivio motina', Antanas Budriūnas' 'Ruduo', Julius Juzeliūnas' 'Septynios dainos', Jonas Nabažas' 'Šaulys').
