Summary / Abstract:

LTEkslibriso, kaip knygos ženklo, tema Lietuvos medicinos bibliotekoje (LMB) nėra svetima. Biblioteka turi nemažą šiuolaikinio medicinos ekslibrisų kolekciją, surinktą organizuojant parodas, bendraujant su knygos ženklų kūrėjais. Nors apie LMB sukauptą lietuviškų medicinos ekslibrisų kolekciją pastaruoju metu buvo rašyta nemažai (Labanauskas, Sivakovaitė, Vaišvilienė 2017; Vaišvilienė 2014), apie knygos nuosavybės ženklus, esančius pačiuose LMB saugomuose leidiniuose, išsamiau nekalbėta. Tik vienoje kitoje publikacijoje, rašant apie bibliotekoje sukauptą lietuviškų medicinos ekslibrisų kolekciją, užsimenama, kad įvairių knygos ženklų galima rasti senuosiuose leidiniuose. Šiuo straipsniu siekiama glaustai apžvelgti Lietuvos medicinos bibliotekos senųjų spaudinių fonde rastus knygos ženklus ir pristatyti patį fondą, kuris vis dar laukia knygos ir medicinos istorijos tyrėjų, o kolegas paskatinti pateikti išsamesnį senųjų leidinių aprašą su užfiksuotais juose esančiais knygos nuosavybės ženklais. ENThe fund of old publications of the Lithuanian Library of Medicine (LLM) comprises about 5,000 publications in various medical and biomedical areas. The books in the Latin, Polish, Russian, German, French and other languages make the bigger part of the library. There are dissertations defended at Vilnius and Dorpat (Tartu) universities. These are the informational publications of various areas in medicine and biomedicine: dictionaries, manuals, textbooks, teaching aids, monographs and other publications related to medicine. The publications are included in general library catalogue, they are available to all readers who are interested in the science of medicine, the history of medicine and book. Since 2012, the bibliographic entries of old publications have been included in electronic catalogue of LLM as well. A cover or title page is scanned at the same time. This facilitates the selection of publications in searching for bookplates, however, the information is not enough. Various bookplatess usually are hidden on the inside of the book cover, flyleaf, or somewhere else. Writing this work, the bookplates were searched in the publications of Vilnius printing-houses of the 16-20th century (until 2017), whose bibliographic descriptions had already been uploaded to LLM electronic catalogue. While carrying out the search, various orthographic variants were used of the word "Vilnius": "VILNAE", "VILNO", "WILNIE", "WILNO", "ВИЛЬНА", "ВИЛЬНО" as well as a chronological framework of publications (16th century - 1917) was followed. In total, 45 publications were found. After entering the word Vilno, one source was received, "Vilnae" - 5, "Wilnie" - 4, "Wilno" - 18, "Вильно" - 16, "Вильна" - 14. After reviewing all publications de visu, about 30 different bookplates were found. These are ex libris of Vilnius Society of Medicine, Vilnius Society of Friends of Science, private persons, as well as the seals, wafers, inscriptions, etc. of the books of libraries of different medicine institutions. We learn from inscriptions and personal seals what medical publications in their collections possessed concrete persons. The defined scope of the publications - the books published in Vilnius from the 16th century until 2017 - provides the basis for the investigation of bookplates of LLM old publications and supplements the knowledge of Lithuanian bookplates, the history of medicine and book. Several bookplates from other publications and of different period are presented in order to spread the message, that it is possible to find in library really interesting, maybe, earlier not found, bookplates and to engage a wider auditorium of bookplate "hunters" and researchers of the history of medicine. These publications of various medicine institutions, persons, although found accidentally, are related to the history of Lithuanian medicine. The publications of these days are as interesting as the old publications, with ex libris, seals, or handwritten notes certifying ownership. All these bookplates imply the history of publication, its travelling from private collections to libraries and vice versa. The bookplates, which can be found in the publications of Lithuanian Library of Medicine, may provide different knowledge not only of a publication, ownership or a library, but after a thorough investigation, to provide information for researchers of the history of Lithuanian medicine about doctors who possibly worked in Lithuania. A peculiar feeling captures you, when after opening the publication you see that this publication was really read, and this is proved by various inscriptions in the text. The old publications preserved in Lithuanian Library of Medicine have been still waiting for the attention of researchers of book culture, the history of medicine publications, the history of Lithuanian medicine.
