Summary / Abstract:

LTStraipsnyje pristatoma prevencinė programa "Savu keliu" ir keliamas probleminis tyrimo klausimas: koks psichoaktyviųjų medžiagų vartojimo prevencijos programos "Savu keliu" poveikis 7–8 klasių mokinių psichoaktyviųjų medžiagų vartojimo pasekmių suvokimui? Remiantis atlikto empirinio tyrimo duomenimis (atlikus šimto devyniasdešimt vieno mokinio testavimą prieš ir po eksperimento), buvo nustatyta, jog įgyvendinus prevencinę programą "Savu keliu" pagerėjo mokinių psichoaktyviųjų medžiagų vartojimo pasekmių suvokimas, todėl siūloma priimti tolesnius sprendimus švietimo politikos srityje, įtvirtinti platesnio šios programos diegimo galimybes. ENIn order to ensure purposeful and consistent work on the prevention of the use of psychoactive substances, taking into account the criteria of an effective preventive program (scientific theoretical justification, validity of goals and objectives, purposefulness of the program content, consistency and impact assessment before and after the implementation of the program), the National Centre for Special Needs Education and Psychology has prepared the first Lithuanian psychoactive substance use prevention program "My Way". To investigate the practical effect of these programs (in the context of the Republic of Lithuania), the preventive program "My Way" was selected as a specific subject of the study. Therefore, this article presents the experience of the implementation of the above-mentioned programme and raises the problematic issue: what is the effect of the psychoactive substance use prevention program "My Way" to the perceptions of the use of psychoactive substances between the pupils studying in grades from 7'th until 8'th? The aim of this article is to analyze the change in the perception of the consequences of the use of psychoactive substances in 7'th-8'th grades before and after the application of preventive programme "My Way". To achieve this goal, a quasi-experiment with an unequal control group and an initial and final measurement was performed. The quasi-experimental program was implemented during the 2014-2015 school year at 8 experimental schools in the Panevėžys region. The experimental group consisted of 91 pupils and control group consisted of 100 pupils from 7'th-8'th grades, studying in general education schools belonging to Panevėžys region. Initial measurement took place in October 2014, and final measurement - in May 2015 (in control and experimental groups). The results of the study showed that after the intervention, the experimental group paid more attention to the assessment of the consequences of the use of psychoactive substances than before the intervention. The authors also found that after the experimental intervention the experimental group pupils evaluated the consequences of alcohol consumption higher than before the intervention. It has been determined that in the experimental group after the intervention, the perception of the consequences of the use of psychoactive substances by pupils, especially perceptions about the harm of alcohol and drugs use, has improved. Based on the results of the empirical research and their analysis, it can be concluded that the program of prevention of psychoactive substances abuse "My Way" has an impact on the perceptions of the consequences of using psychoactive substances in 7'th and 8'th grades of general education schools in the Republic of Lithuania. Therefore, the school leaders, educators, and educational assistance specialists who seek to prevent the use of psychoactive substances are recommended to implement the prevention program "My Way" in 7'th and 8'th grades. Considering the findings of the research, it is proposed to take further decisions in the field of education policy, envisaging a wider implementation of this program. [From the publication]
