Summary / Abstract:

ENThe aim of the paper is the recognition and assessment of the source of information on the perceived risk and safety in the tourism sector in Poland and Lithuania. For the purpose of this work, the results of a pilot research survey which was conducted among Polish and Lithuanian young tourists in Szczecin (Poland) and in Vilnius (Lithuania) were used. Research results indicate that government information and the opinion of family or friends are irrelevant, and that the respondents pay attention to information received from the media and other factors.
