ENThis article basically is brief overview of the thematic and stylistic changes that are noticeable in the books written by Meras in Israel. Author of the article proposes and uses the term “arrangement” as a concept to describe seeking of authentic life and also literary method. The issue of difficult reception of Meras’ creativity is also raised but just as a peripheral aspect of the review. One of the main objects in this analysis is comparison of the trajectories in relations between individual and society identified comparing Meras to such artists as Venclova, Jurašas, and Kondrotas. The instruments of analysis used in the article are semiotics of culture by J. Lotman and sociosemiotics by E. Landowsky. The concept of “horizon of expectations” by J. R. Jauss is updated and adapted to use for this analysis.
