ENHistory of Ukraine of XIV–XV centuries linked to a common past with the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Russia. After winning the Blue Waters 1362y. Lithuanian princes create a system of fortification on the southern border to protect the state, ensure the functioning of customs on the crossings. Part of such a system was a complex in the south of the Kherson region, which included Tyagin fortress, whose research was initiated by V.I. Goshkevich in 1914, extended by researchers in the twentieth century - at the beginning of the ХХІcent. In 2016–2017 y. in the settlement, and in 2018 on the fortress, Southern Medieval Expedition of the IA NASU carried out a series of studies: topographical, aerial photo and bathymetric surveys and excavations of the area of the outer fortress wall. Obtained materials on the history of fortification and material culture testify the national and international significance of a unique monument - place of interweaving of historical ways of civilizations of the Turkic peoples, the Baltics and Ukraine.
