ENKlaipėda Municipality Ethnoculture Centre was established in the year 1991. Lithuanian folklore propagation tasks are based on (a) leading folklore ensembles activities, (b) providing of national mass calendar feasts, (c) international folklore festivals arrangements and (d) folklore education lectures for common people here. We see folklore education lectures for common people as very important part of Ethnoculture Centre activities at present. This way we come together to save and to propagate Lithuanian traditional culture heritage presentations for new generations. It is possible to come to the this Centre periodically for common folk dance and folk singing evenings, even if you have no any practical and theoretical background for it. Young mothers use to come here to learn lullabies singing and simple games playing with her babies. Traditional handicraft making lectures are organized here as well. The exhibitions of traditional folk art presentations are open here all the time. New and new forms of local folklore education appear here every year, and they are very popular for Klaipėda citizens.
