ENTo achieve this purpose it is necessary to create the balanced policy of transit cargo transportation which would ensure the attraction of transit railway transport streams to Lithuania as well as its efficient passing through the territory of Lithuania. That includes building of new railways as well as the reorganization of the existant ones so that they can meet the requirements accepted all over Europe. Moreover, it comprises such things as setting up new terminals, the unification of the technical standards incumbent upon the railway transport, the simplification of the customs passing procedures and the unification of all documentation.
