LTŠio straipsnio tikslas apžvelgti pastaruoju metu daug dėmesio sukėlusią temą - Klaipėdos miesto Atgimimo aikštės su prieigomis plėtros alternatyvų paieškas, bei konkretizuoti vieną jų [p. 31].

ENThe aim of the article is to review the lately popular theme of the search for Klaipėda city’s Atgimimo square and its surroundings development alternatives and to specify one of them. The foundation of this article is a comprehensive study carried out during a phase in Vilnius art academy Klaipėda faculty architecture studies. Its authors analysed the development possibilities of Atgimimo square and its surrounding buildings complex - Klaipėda state musical theatre and hotel „Amberton“. This work displays the fact that Atgimimo square has become the most important element in the city’s urban structure and it must remain the central square. Such search for space forming alternatives has to begin from the present object transformation research, surrounding urban quarter internal development resource and possibilities evaluation.
