ENCity and country-side have very strong relationship. We can’t imagine city without market of farmers, shops without milk or meat and weekends without going out of city. Regional policy has to be treated as a complex of instruments, aimed to promote economic development in the region as well as complex of instruments, that ensure the same living level for all citizens irrespectively of their location. We have one problem, because we still like to separate city from country-side. But the biggest part of county people are living near big cities. The direct investment is received by biggest cities like Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda. The authors comes to conclusion, that the most effective integral relationship between city and country-side would be between rural communities and city community, by making common projects to get investment and so on. The second conclusion is that regional policy must take city and country-side as one region, that would be easier to help to the most problematic regions.
