ENThe aim of this paper is to examine the tendencies of Crucifixion iconography in Lithuania during the Baroque period. Most of the images are traditional narrative compositions that illustrate the Gospel. There are very little symbolical types of Crucifixion in Lithuania professional art and just a couple images of sacra conversazione. Some of the paintings have accurate prototypes in old masters’ artworks, whereas the rest are unidentified. Yet, the iconographical details and compositions of images have much in common with Western European art.
