LTStraipsnio objektas - mokyklinis žargonas ir jo vartotojų, mokinių, požiūris tiek į žargoninę leksiką, tiek į žargoną apskritai. Straipsnis aktualus tuo, kad Lietuvoje dar mažoka žargono kaip "bendrinės kalbos paribio ir užribio" (Zaikauskas: 2007, 5) tyrimų, o mokyklinis žargonas kaip viena labiausiai paplitusių mokinių šnekamosios kalbos atmainų pastaruoju metu beveik netirtas. Straipsnio tikslas - aptarti dabartinių mokinių santykį su žargonu, ypač žargonybėmis, ir palyginti dabartinius duomenis su prieš kiek daugiau nei dvidešimtį metų skelbtaisiais. Tikslui pasiekti taikyti aprašomasis analitinis, statistinis ir apklausos metodai [p. 64].

ENThe present article, based on the data obtained from a survey of pupils learning at one of Vilnius city schools, contains an overview on how pupils evaluate slang and what kind of vocabulary (official or slang) they choose in naming various school-related realia. The article also embraces a comparison of how slang lexis of school learners has changed throughout a period exceeding twenty years. The majority of pupils stated during the survey that slang is usage of incorrect words or words borrowed from other languages and that it is mostly used by youth. Especially abundant and variegated is their slang vocabulary related to computer application and information technologies. The questionnaire-based survey results indicate that pupils’ language related to school environment has changed since 1986: although only a small number of denotations of a slang origin have disappeared, multiple new slangisms that are already difficult to understand without explanation of pupils themselves have come into usage. Questionnaire answers provided by pupils reflect that their vocabulary is mostly impacted by public language, especially which is used in mass media. Herefrom, a large number of slang words are heard, as well.
