The determined goals were: to identify the specific factors important for employee job satisfaction; to assess the variety of motivation methods used in Lithuanian organizations; to assess the importance of practically used motivation methods to the employees and to analyse the importance of different factors, depending on various attributes of the employees. The employee job satisfaction survey was performed using special questionnaire placed in the internet. After analysing the job satisfaction situation in nowadays organizations it turned out that the majority of employees are satisfied with their jobs. The motivation methods are most frequently used in Lithuanian organizations, do really satisfy people expectations, however a few methods are applied, which are not important to employees. The different characteristics of the employees showed different attitudes: men are more satisfied with their jobs than women; educated and short term working people are more satisfied with recognitions of their job performance and feedbacks. Compensations and benefits are more important for the employee of a younger age. Job security is the most important aspect for elder employees.
