ENThe article examines metaphors in the selections of poems Symbiosefrauen, Sphinxfrauen and Zu zweit über die Liebe by the contemporary German poet and artist Aldona Gustas, using the linguistic method of Metaphor Identification Procedure (MIP). The analysis suggests that the chosen research method, based on the highlighting of sources of metaphors in the chosen poems, has been successful. The research has found that natural phenomena, animals, objects and words form the source domain in Gustas’ poetry, conveying concepts denoting the human body and love. [From the publication]
