ENThe goal of the article: to analyse masses by contemporary Lithuanian composers, first of all Darius Lapinskas' Missa di poveri (1991) and Linas Rimša's Missa lituana (2006-2011) as the contemporary examples of collation and/or the blending of sacral and secular elements in the genres of church music, searching for the source and the meaning of this phenomenon, and the theological message it carries (the conformity to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church).
