LTStraipsnyje aptariama paveldotyros ir akademinės istoriografijos probleminės sąveikos istorija ir perspektyvos. Remiantis šių disciplinų teorinės raidos tendencijų apžvalga bandoma įrodyti, kad į akis krintančios jų evoliucijos paralelės nėra atsitiktinės. Tradiciniai santykiai, kuomet istorija tarnavo pagalbiniu paveldotyros mokslu, iš esmės užsiėmusiu šaltinotyra, siejami su panašia judviejų tyrimo objekto klasifikacija – tiek istorija, tiek paminklosauga tuomet domėjosi atskirybėmis, ar tai būtų pavieniai įvykiai ar iškilūs paminklai. Šią padėtį, atrodo, lėmė nacionalinės valstybės reikšmė bei įtaka. Todėl istorinio tyrimo objekto sampratos praplėtimas, įtraukiant socioekonominius bei kultūrinius procesus, struktūras ar vertybes žymi ir kokybinį šių dviejų disciplinų tarpdalykinių ryšių pasikeitimą. Naujausios istoriografijos kryptys siekia apimti ir materialaus paveldo sferą, integruodamos ją į bendresnę istorinės kultūros kategoriją. Savo ruožtu, šiuolaikinė paveldotyra yra sudėtinė paveldosaugos, nūnai akcentuojančios kultūros vertybių interpretacijos poreikį, dalis. ENThe paper discusses the history and the future of the problem-oriented interaction between heritage studies and academic historiography. Based on an overview of the theoretical development trends of these disciplines, the paper seeks to prove that their evident parallels are not accidental. The traditional relations when history was a support science of heritage studies and actually involved source studies are associated with the similar classification of their subject of research: both history and monument protection were then concerned with isolated things, albeit individual events or outstanding monuments. This situation seems to have been determined by the importance and influence of the nation state. Therefore, the enlargement of the concept of the subject of research by including socioeconomic and cultural processes, structures or values also marks a qualitative change in the interdisciplinary relations between the two disciplines. The latest trends of historiography also seek to cover the field of material heritage, integrated it with the more general category of historic culture. In their turn, modern heritage studies represent an integral part of heritage protection that currently highlights the need for interpreting cultural values.
