Diagnosis of socio-economic development of the European Union countries

ENThe main purpose of the paper is an assessment of current level of socio-economic development of EU countries. In situation of many difficult changes, which could complicate the further EU’s situation, the analyses provided in these areas are important. Due to large differences in the social and economic development of EU countries, the multi-criteria taxonomy was used to compare the situation in both of these areas. The authors decided that the basis for the analyses will be the indicators transformed according to the relative taxonomy method. The results confirmed the relatively large differences between EU countries especially in the area of economic development.
