ENIt is a well known fact that European numismatists have a fondness not only for own country coinage, but also for various collectable materials from abroad. The Grand Duchy of Lithuania is no exception, offering a very rich numismatic heritage exemplified by the Lithuanian coins. Coins of Sigismundus Augustus comprise the largest group of Lithuanian coins, with several hundred various types and subtypes. Therefore, even collecting coins of Sigismundus Augustus exclusively is a fulfilling pastime. Minted from silver, these attractive coins are well catalogued and are a relatively inexpensive denomination to collect. To encourage more European numismatists to be interested in Lithuanian numismatics, we offer this detailed catalog of coins of Sigismundus Augustus (1544 / 1548-1572).
