As soon as A.Hitler became the leader of Germany, the real danger appeared to loose Klaipeda city and the seaport. The commando ofLithuania armed forces general S. Raštikis ordered to make work the military studying skip „Prezidentas A.Smetona“. In 1935 august the first time when the Lithuania’s military naval forces flag was rised ou board the skip. Lithuania lost Klaipėda and there was no base for the skips. Comanding officer ofihe skip P. Labanauskas ashed the government to allow them use Šventoji port. In June of 1940 the Soviet skips blocked Šventoji port and took over all Lithuania skips and boats. After the independence was reestablished the govcmcment and Defence Ministry already knew that the scaq should be protected. Chieg Defence ministry A.Butkcvičius organized the committee consisting of ex soviet profesioonal officers E. Miliauskas, J. A-Leišis, V. Urbas and V. Sirevičius.Their aim was to assembly naval specialists and to take over military objects from Russins. The committee did a greatjob and now we lave patrol boat „Dzūkas, two frigates „Aukštaitis“ and „Žemaitis“, auxilary skip „Vėtra“ two cutters SK-21 and SSSSK-23. Lithuanian navy also has two companies, such as, sea surveillance and comandant’s, has control center and there they communicate and cooperate with border police. LINAVY also has infantry battalion. Sea surveillance company consists three sea obsertving posts situated m Nida, Klaipėda and Palanga. The headquarters and logistics are situated in the same place N.Uosto street 24 in Klaipėda. Every year Lithuania is represented in the world by participating m the international exercises; such as, „Baltic Challeuge“, „Baltic Eye“, „Coperative VEnture“, „Open Spirit“, „Baltic Banners“ and many others. It was planned that LINVY waeld receive few mines weappers from Germany m Jannary - February 1999. young Lithuanians boys are tanght m Sweden, Danmark and the LISA m the highest military naval shools and return back qualified officers. Lithuanian navy not only control the coat and the sea but also make the name of Lithuania famous in all over the world.
