ENThis article deals with one of the presentational techniques in audiovisual translation, voice-over, which nowadays is still an underrated and underrepresented topic in Audiovisual Translation Studies (AVTS). The aim of this paper is to give an overview to the research status of voice-over within AVTS by presenting statements, insights and notions of voice-over. For this reason, scholarly papers by researchers from Spain, Great Britain, Sweden and Lithuania were evaluated to compile a necessary number of aspects to give a starting point for a plausible notion of voice-over. Possible future research into voice-over can be focused on theory-driven or on practical projects. Thus, for the both of them a reliable notion of voice-over should be established by considering much more than linguistic or technical aspects of voice-over.
