ENModern economics increasingly emphasizes the role of social capital in socioeconomic development of the country. One of the factors determining the level of that capital is the state of civil attitudes, characterized by engagement in all kinds of communities and social organizations and willingness to help others. The aim of this article is to identify the level of civic attitudes among students in Poland, in the area of collective actions and helping others, and to compare it with the level of these attitudes among students from Lithuania and Spain. The object of the study are first-year students of economic studies from the Faculty of Economics and Management University of Szczecin and students of the university from Vilnius in Lithuania and Vigo in Spain. Test method are surveys concerning the social capital held by employees of the Department of Macroeconomics University of Szczecin. The analysis indicated that the level of civic attitudes and propensity to collective actions among studied students in Poland is low and the lowest among the three studied countries.
