Visuomenės samprata Vinco Kudirkos darbuose

ENThe article presents characteristic features of Vincas Kudirka concept of Lithuanian society of the end 19* century. Vincas Kudirka (1858-1899) was one of the most eminent leaders of Lithuanian national movement, intelectual, sociologist and publicist. The author of the paper following his writing of life stories analyses the sociological views of V.Kudirka and his considerations about society. The attention to the life stories approach is paid as the recognition of competence of the subject in the sociological investigation. It coincides with that altitudes in the sociology science: a) no direct representation of the real world can be without the mediation of culture and language, b) a plurality of perspectives exist, c) local, contextual studies are respected versus grand narratives. In the article the meanings of relations between the Russian govemment and Lithuanian community, some categories of sociology of space (f. e., such places as localities, bridge, exposition, Russian church) and the aspects of women situation are analysed. Vincas Kudirka revealed in his works a panoramic sight of Lithuanian society: the features of the sočiai structure, the way of life (status-oriented consumption) of the officials, the sočiai construction of new identities of people. The author of the article emphasizes that Vincas Kudirka paid attention to women problems; in his writing he revealed the issues about their education, suffering from violence, poverty and health disorders.
