Summary / Abstract:

LTStraipsnio tikslas - aptarti, kodėl keliaujančios moters figūra pasirodė lietuviu moterų tekstuose tik paskutiniajame XX a. dešimtmetyje, bei išanalizuoti keliaujančios moters figūros prasmes žvelgiant iš feministinės perspektyvos. Tyrimo objektu pasirenkamas šiuolaikinės lietuvių rašytojos Zitos Čepaitės romanas Paulinos kelionė (1995), kuriame moters kelionės motyvu atskleidžiama kintanti moters vieta pokomunistinėje erdvėje.Reikšminiai žodžiai: Feministinis kriticizmas; Keliaujanti moteris; Kelionė; Kelionės motyvas; Literatūra; Lietuvių moterų tekstai; Moteris; Moterų kūryba; Moterų literatūra; Paulino kelionė; Zita Čepaitė; Feminist Criticism; Journey; Lithuanian Literature; Lithuanian Women Texts; Paulina's Journey; Travel Motive; Traveling Woman; Woman; Women's Creation; Women's Literature; Zita Čepaitė.

ENEmploying the method of feminist criticism, the article analyses how the motif of a travelling woman in the novel Paulinos kelionė (Paulina's Journey, 1995) by modem Lithuanian writer Zita Čepaitė reveals a woman's self-attitude in new surroundings. Efforts to discover the world bring both freedom and a potentially dangerous challenge. The heroine's encounter with the diversity of a foreign society reveals the changing consciousness and experiences of the East European woman in a post-communist world. In this novel, insecurity becomes a universal state of being: the surroundings and society are hostile towards women, and violence and coercion are represented not as an exception but as a norm. Čepaitė portrays woman's consciousness: she has learned how to apply the feminist rhetoric but has not learned to take responsibility for her own fate. [From the publication]
