ENIn this article the dichotomy of the ideal and the material inrooted in the Western aesthetics is analyzed in a broad sociocultural context with emphasis on oppositional sexual meanings. The author discusses the impact of psychophysiological characteristics of an individual on the perception of the world and self-expression as well as the origin of signs of the body morphology in art. The feminist psychoanalysis is employed to reveal the characteristics of female psychophysiology and body morphology that not only give rise to the birth of specific visual metaphors but also decompose the hegemony of the idea-reason-vision, the foundation of modem art.
