ENThe find of tsar Alexei Mikhajlovich (1645-1676) Novgorod kopeck from Orsha hoard (Vitsebsk region) is examined in the article. It is one of the most rear «wire» coins of Russian State. Its presence in Orsha hoard is unusual for Belarusian money economy because it is the first known find among hoards of this time. The author connects this find with the presence of Russian occupational troops on the territory of Belarus in the time of the war between Rech Pospolitaja and Russia (1654-1667). Presence of this coin allows to date hoard from Orsha to the period between the years 1657 (the time of Novgorod kopeck issue) and 1661 (the time of liberation of Orsha povet from Russian troops).
