ENUntill now, it has often been discussed that conveying proper names have always got less attention. The article analyses and compares grammatical aspects of the usage of Lithuanian and Latvian personal names. The purpose of this research: by referring to the theoretical provisions of conveying personal names of the other language to establish their practical application in both Baltic languages. The material for research was selected from various recent press publications in both Lithuania and Latvia. The research was carried out by applying comparative and descriptive methods. One of the major aspects of grammar is conveying endings of personal names. We separately analysed the principles of conveying Lithuanian and Latvian surnames, having various endings and suffixes, into other languages. Closely connected to conveying endings is the declension of personal names, i.e. their usage: if the ending is conveyed exactly, it is easy to apply it to the paradigm of declension in another language.
