ENThe present article deals with the names of housekeeping notions in Selonian dialects along Lithuanian border that have been borrowed from Lithuanian. About 50 names of housekeeping notions have been identified, naming diverse equipments, tools, household objects, as well as household buildings, houses and related notions. Several borrowings, regarded in the article, are supposed to have entered Latvian dialects through Lithuanian as a mediator language; their genetic origin is usually found in one of the Slavic languages. The article deals with the phonetic features of this thematic group of borrowings. It provides the characteristics of the borrowings that have entered Latvian dialects with the specific phonetic features and phonetic irregularities, characteristic of the Eastern Lithuanians. The article regards the morphological and semantic adaptation of borrowings. It is usually manifested through the narrowing of the scope of the meaning of the word or its particularization. Transfer of meaning on the similarity basis is a more seldom case. Expressivity is not characteristic of the borrowings of this thematic group. Glossary of the borrowed names of housekeeping notions is enclosed. It contains borrowings from Lithuanian, etymologized by the author of the article.
