ENThe Mircea Eliade's concept regarding the functions and the meaning of festive rituals in the traditional world outlook, has been selected as the methodological basis of the analyses. In the context of Lithuanian cosmogonic rituals, found mostly in the texts of calendar songs, the phraseological unit "father's manor" is the representative of the sacred primordial nature, of the ideal state, which might be interpreted as paradise, reachable through a set of cosmogonic manipulations. The desemantized concept of 'home' in its cosmogonic connotations does not exist in Lithuanian folklore. This concept is expressed in its archetypal form through such denotants as 'manor', 'yard', 'garden', 'life'.
