ENGlobally, the Baltic countries are usually perceived as a single region. Nevertheless, they have significantly different economic results and different positions in international studies. These differences are determined by both the previous and the current economic system. Statistics and research (general research as the World Governance Indicators by the World Bank and specific research as the Lisbon Review by World Economic Forum) confirm that Estonia is doing better than Latvia and Lithuania due to a more efficient public administration system. That gives an advantage in state marketing. Latvia has to reduce the number of employees in public administration as well as focus on the weak points of legislation and government effectiveness.
