Międzynarodowa konkurencyjność litewskiej gospodarki a jej innowacyjność

ENInnovation is one of the main factors in shaping the international competitive position of the countries. The aim of this paper is to show the innovation as a factor that determines the level of competitiveness of Lithuania in the years 2006–2016. A detailed analysis of the competitiveness factors of Lithuania has been carried out in order to achieve the objective, with particular emphasis on innovation. The first part of the paper presents a theoretical outline of concepts related to international competitiveness and innovativeness of the economy. The second part is devoted to analyzing changes in the competitiveness of the Lithuanian economy in the years 2006–2016 on the basis of WEF reports. In the last part of this article we examined the innovativeness of Lithuania according to the WEF ranking and the European Innovation Scoreboard. The analysis shows that innovation is not a major factor in stimulating the growth of Lithuania’s competitiveness.
