ENThe common sequence of procedures in the conservation of textile objects is the following: dismantling, chemical cleaning, washing, lining, stitching and ironing. But in each individual case some factors should be taken into account: the age of the object, materials from which it is made, the colour of the fabric and the type of dyes, ornaments and applications, measurements of garments and finally the conditions of future storage and exhibiting. All these factors often determine certain changes in the sequence of treatment. In storage of textile objects appropriate conditions should be fulfilled: the garments should not be folded and at least twice a year they should be rearranged and aired. The appropriate air temperature and relative humidity should be maintained. Proper lighting conditions on display should also be observed.
