ENDue to inappropriate storage during the First and the Second World Wars, artworks by M.K Čiurlionis were badly damaged. Since 1920 they have been under the care of the artist’s sister Valerija: first of all at her private house, then at the Kaunas M.K Čiurlionis State Art Museum. She consulted well-known conservators from Russia and other foreign countries and supervised the conservation process of the works at the Restoration Center of the Lithuanian Art Museum.
