Dangvietų kaimas ir jo žmonės Šiaulių "Aušros" muziejaus etnografinio archyvo tekstuose ir vaizduose

ENThe article recounts the story of Dangvietai, a small village in Samogitia that was part of the Užventis estate. It is based on ethnographic expedition records from the 1930s, compiled by the Šiauliai Regional Studies Society, and now stored at the Šiauliai Aušra Museum. Reading the homestead descriptions and examining early 20th-century photographs, an unembellished, authentic picture of village life unfolds before us the dimly lit interiors of modest cottages, faces of villagers reflected in the features of wooden carved saint figures. A century ago, Dangvietai was inhabited by smallholding farmers and artisans, including a blacksmith, clog makers, wheelwrights, carpenters, tailors, and others. In the 21st century, its inhabitants have changed, but three old farmsteads and a roadside chapel on a high stone still remain.
