ENThe introduction of the survey makes a short overview of some integrational aspects of Lithuanian emigration art into the cultural environment of Lithuania. The work focuses on the consideration of Lithuanian emigration art books published in Germany in 1945-1949. The survey is based on the works of Lithuanian art critics, specifically, on the periodicals of the years under study. The majority of works published in the period deal with the graphic art. They include collections and cycles of engravings, illustrations by T.Valius, P Augius, V Petravičius, V Ratas, A Vaičaitis, minor monographs devoted to the graphic artist V.K Jonynas, painters V Kasiulis, P Kiaulėnas. In the graphic art of Lithuanian post-war exile which had preserved the national specifics and the modernized national expression mastered in the previous period, new dramatic motives of the lost homeland, exile trials, emerged, some stylistic changes became apparent. The album Lithuanian art in exile”, published in 1948 makes an attempt at presenting an overall picture of the post-war exile art. In the scientific work by J Baltrušaitis ‘‘Lithuanian folk art” the foreign readers are introduced to the Lithuanian folk art. The majority of authors writing for the periodicals of the period under discussion tried to promote the modern trend of emigration art among the less sophisticated public arguing, that the modern plastic language of the 20th century was in full accord with the national identity of art and was one of the promising ways for the development of Lithuanian art.
