Summary / Abstract:
ENWe have combined industry-proven linguistic technology with statistical techniques from the information retrieval field to build a unique system that enhances a knowledge browser with document similarity data. (Čulo et al., this volume) present a method to extract terminology from a corpus. In this paper, we explore how to use the results of the terminology extraction for information retrieval techniques. More exactly, we show a method based on vector space models by which we can compute a measure of similarity between documents. This similarity measure serves as a basis for clustering and classification techniques which are applied in the RKB system.
