Valstybės vaidmuo Lietuvos teatro veikloje 1918-1940 m. : disertacija

LTDisertacijoje analizuojamas valstybės vaidmuo teatro veikloje Pirmosios Lietuvos Respublikos laikotarpiu, ideologiniai teatro pagrindai, teigiamas ir neigiamas poveikis teatro plėtrai bei savivaldai, taip pat vertybinėms teatralų nuostatoms. Lietuvoje teatrų tinklas buvo menkai išplėtotas, todėl nuodugniausiai nagrinėjamas Valstybės teatras Kaune – jo statusas, valdymo ir finansavimo ypatybės. Remiantis archyviniais duomenimis tiriama, kaip 1918–1940 m. valstybė valdė teatro veiklą bei plėtojo teatro kultūrą, nustatoma, kokios idėjinės prielaidos paskatino institucinės teatro sistemos atsiradimą tarpukario Lietuvoje, įvertinama valdžios įtaka teatro menininkams. Disertacijoje pristatoma teatro naudingumą valstybei skelbusios koncepcijos istorinė raida XVII–XIX a. Europoje, tiriama, kaip šios nuostatos adaptuotos XIX a. pab.–XX a. pr. lietuvių teatro sampratoje. Analizuojamas valstybinės teatro sistemos kūrimas ir raida 1918–1940 m., išryškinamos Valstybės teatro ir jo padalinių valdymo tendencijos, atskleidžiama, kaip ir kokie institucinės kontrolės mechanizmai lėmė kūrybinių ir organizacinių sprendimų priėmimą valstybės išlaikomoje teatro sistemoje. Atskira disertacijos dalis skiriama valstybinės paramos formoms: tiriamas teatro sistemos finansavimas, nagrinėjamos Valstybės teatro darbuotojų ekonominės bei socialinės privilegijos ir valdžios poveikis tarpukario teatro kultūros plėtrai. Iškeliama hipotezė, kad teatro srityje valdžia labiau nei formaliais kontrolės ir priespaudos mechanizmais pasikliovė teatralų konformizmu, todėl apibrėžiamos ir nagrinėjamos tipiškos teatro praktikų sėkmės strategijos, kuriomis siekta stiprinti savo kūrybinės karjeros pozicijas bei derinti estetines pažiūras su teatro naudingumu valstybei. ENThis doctoral thesis examines the state’s role in theatre activity in the First Republic of Lithuania, its conceptual grounds; positive and negative effects on theatre development, self-government and professionals’ stance. The thesis focuses on the State Theatre in Kaunas, presenting a detailed analysis of its status and characteristic features of its management and financing. Analysis presented in the thesis is threefold: the conceptual preconditions, which stimulated the emergence of the institutional theatre system in the interwar Lithuania are identified; the state strategies in governing of theatrical activity and developing theatrical culture are analysed; the scale of the governmental influence on theatre artists’ priorities for action, career and creative choices is estimated. First, the evolution of the utilitarian conception of theatre in Europe is analysed in order to establish how Western definitions of national theatre functions were adapted in Lithuania at the turn of the 20th century. Secondly, reconstruction and analysis of development of the state theatre system are presented, emphasizing the tendencies of government control and exploring how and what institutional control mechanisms influenced the creative and organisational decisions.Thirdly, the forms of state support provided for the theatre system are defined and assessed: the financial expression of theatrical activity in the overall context of state’s priorities, the economic and social privileges granted to the servants of the state theatre system and the state’s influence on the development of theatrical culture. Lastly, typical success strategies used by theatre practitioners to consolidate their creative careers are defined, maintaining that the utilitarian understanding of theatre activities together with highly centralised theatre system had their impact on the theatre professionals’ aesthetic views and creative work.
