ENThe article deals with the problem of an impact the scientism exerts upon aesthetic theory. A short description of strong points and draw-backs of scientism is provided in it. A range of negative consequences, brought about into aesthetics by scientism, are discussed in more detail: aesthetic anti-essentialism; the attempts to interpret artworks as the containers of logical propositions: a desemantisation and decontextualisation of the artifacts, ect.
