Summary / Abstract:

ENThe letter of the deposed grand duke of Lithuania Švitrigaila written during his Lithuanian campaign on the 13th November 1432 to the grand master of the Teutonic order Paul von Rusdorf is published and analyzed in the paper. The news of Švitrigaila’s successes, the events in Lithuania and neighbour states make it possible to better understand the nature of the war and the relation of the society to the belligerents. The source is also interesting due to a mention of Mensk – the present-day Minsk, which was not used in the historiography before.
